Yebin Mok, Professional Figure Skater is my next guest
The Dancing on Ice Star is now live here.
Yebin’s journey started in South Korea, before she emigrated to LA. It was there she discovered ice skating at a kid’s 10th birthday party, and ended up being part of Team USA. She progressed from there to the glamour of touring, entertaining thousands on cruise ships around the world, where she ended up meeting fellow figure skater (and now Doctor?!) husband.
It is a great story and if you’ve ever been curious about this world, this is the episode for you.
In a Nutshell, we discuss emergency c-sections, sleep deprivation, secondary infertility and body image.
Episodes are for everyone… but - who would LOVE this episode —>

Fact of the week…
Sweden is the best place in the world to have kids.
And your mind will be blown when I tell you why.
Parents receive 480 days of paid leave when their child is born or adopted. Yep.
THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY of these days are paid at 80% of your salary. Let me repeat…390 days. At 80% of your salary.
You can split this equally between you and your partner, however you choose
You’re both legally entitled to flexible working and shorter hours
Nursery and school hours, and school holidays, correlate with working hours and working holiday entitlement. You know. Because this genuinely makes sense.
Childcare is 3% of your gross salary per month - but, it’s capped at a maximum of around £120 ($158). PER MONTH.
For comparison, UK full time childcare is approx nine times higher.
No no, I can’t believe it either. And yes yes, it makes me angry too.
Fun fact, pre-COVID my husband and I were considering moving to Sweden, and I even started to learn Swedish. We stayed there for about a month in November 2019 to try it out, before the world turned upside down.
Moving on…
Quote of the week…
A toddler can do more in one unsupervised minute than most people can do in a day.
Product of the week…
Cheap, cheerful, and pretty weird-looking but insanely useful, breast-pumping bra.
Handsfree breast pumping if you can’t afford an Elvie / don’t get along with it.
If you want top buy something extremely useful for a breastfeeding pal I would really recommend this, even if you may laugh your head off when you first see it.
Instamum of the week…
This is a double win because she is also an incredible resource.
Andrea Grace is a registered health visitor, nurse, author, qualified sleep expert and mum of 4.
I’ve tried and tested Andrea and good God she is good. She fixed by son’s 2 and a half year sleep problem in 4 days. FOUR DAYS. And she was so good that I got her onto my baby, who is now sleeping through, off night feeds and off the dummy. For me, a huge win win.
Andrea is eminently sensible, compassionate and understanding of your choices. No crying it out involved. Mega gentle sleep training / not really sleep training at all, just incredible advice that worked really well for me.
I have previously written an article on sleep training here - it can be a murky industry and it is super important that you do your own research before choosing to part with a few pretty pennies for the sake of Zzzs. What works for one baby doesn’t necessarily work for all.
Health Warning… Andrea aint cheap, but frankly I know how it is to be completely desperate, so if this is you and you’re at the end of your tether - I really recommend.
