Linnea’s live!
Linnea Dunne is my guest this week.
She’s a Swedish native living in Ireland who’s a best-selling author, mum of 2, journalist, podcaster and reproductive rights campaigner.
(Also, I was a guest on her podcast back in 2021 where we spoke about the pain and politics of breastfeeding and postnatal depression, pre- the birth of my second baby A).
In a Nutshell, in our episode we discuss termination for medical reasons, pregnancy after loss, abortion rights and birth in a conservative culture.
Episodes are for everyone… but - who would especially appreciate this episode —>

Mums interested in birth and choice rights
Mums who have experienced baby loss
New Leaf reaches 10,000 downloads!?
I can’t even believe so many people have listened to me witter on.
Thank you all so much <3. Best decision I ever made.
To celebrate 10,000 downloads of New Leaf -
Here are 10 facts about New Leaf that you may not know:
New Leaf was originally going to be… called Back to a Future. Awkwardly, an acquaintance of mine also had a podcast with this exact name. By freakish coincidence. I’d designed all logos, branding etc already. Oops.
It was going to be… marketing, for the Mama Coaching course I run for women heading back to work after babies. But then it took on a life of its own :D
I started the podcast in… my in-laws spare room in August 2020, with no clue what I was doing. I just watched these YouTube videos and have shamelessly winged it ever since.
I didn’t plan on… ever doing introductions to each episode. However my first guest Hannah Howard’s journey with her eating disorder inspired me to share my own experience with teenage anorexia pre- the interview, and people seemed to love the prologue thing.
My biggest embarrassment is… my first few episodes because I am so rookie. I can’t listen to them anymore!?!
My favourite guest of all is… SO, so hard to pick. Probably Susie Allison (@busytoddler). So positive and uplifting but with such an innocence. I love her.
My biggest regret is… not getting someone to help me with sound earlier. Frederick French-Pounce was the husband of a podcast fan, and helps me to piece it all together now, and is amazing.
The biggest surprise was… follower count does not equal ego!! Some of the ‘biggest’ people I’ve had on the podcast were most generous with their time and energy. Guests with smaller audiences were a lot choosier with what they would and wouldn’t share. Not in a bad way. Just different!
I am most proud of… being able to share the story of what happened to my first child on episode 3. I was in so much pain from what happened and I did that intro in one take, before just crying and crying. It was the first time I had said the whole story aloud and was a huge part of the healing process for me, and inspired a lot of the future tone of New Leaf
The best thing about the podcast is… obviously the listeners, and making connections with people I’d never otherwise have met. Loads of you have shared your stories of loss, joy, miracles, fears and your deepest secrets. I consider it my huge privilege.
Watch out for…
… the two episodes left before the end of this series - but three guests. Hmm!
… my next guest who’s HUGE in the instagram space on all things pelvic
… my spot as a guest writer on one of the world’s biggest parenting websites
… my secret project, which is fully underway, and will be launched after the end of this series. This will be a big change.
Want to do something really lovely?
Hope you’re all surviving and sleeping.
